It is located in the center of the Municipal head of Coquimatlán in Reform street, in front of the Main Garden and next to the building of the City council.

This place can be acceded by different means of transport, by particular automobile, taxi or suburban bus.

By Javier Mina avenue in Colima (first peripheral ring), or Benito Juárez in Villa de Álvarez (second peripheral ring) it is possible to acceed the Charro Roundabout, in the first case, or to the crossing of La Lechera in the second. In both cases exists connection with the road that communicates Colima with Coquimatlán.

To be able to get to this town by suburban bus, it is necessary to travel to the west bus station, the one of Los Rojos, since the buses that go to Coquimatlán, leave this station every 15 minutes.

The Project for the construction of the temple was approved on May 13th, 1887. Its construction continued in 1913; and in 1918 Mr. Priest Mateo Macías was the one who gave impulse to its construction, although with many deficiencies

In 1932, the earthquake affected the temple and they had to do the respective remodelings, but conserving the original structure of the parish; in 1941, another earthquake affect the its facilities again.

In 1952 Mr. Priest José Aguilar García gave impulse to the construction of the choir, and the vaults, and towers that the temple showed recently; but the January 21st, 2003 earthquake affected greatly, showing a sad state of inoperability with serious structural damages in the walls of the facade and in the superior part of its towers; one of these fell in the inner patio of the City council and the other was seriously damaged. The public access got prohibited by the authorities. It was until September, 2004 when the reconstruction workings begun. It was finally reinaugurated and opened to the public on July, 30, 2006.

Se localiza al centro de la cabecera Municipal de Coquimatlán en la calle Reforma, frente al Jardín Principal y a un costado del edificio del Ayuntamiento.

A este lugar se puede acceder por diferentes medios de transporte, en automóvil particular, en taxi o en autobús suburbano. Al circular por las avenidas Javier Mina en Colima (primer anillo periférico), o Benito Juárez en Villa de Álvarez (segundo anillo periférico) se puede acceder a la Glorieta del Charro en el primer caso o al crucero de La Lechera en el segundo, en ambos casos existe conexión con la carretera que comunica a Colima con Coquimatlán. Para poder llegar a este pueblo en autobús suburbano, es necesario llegar a la Central Camionera poniente, la de “Los Rojos”, ya que los camiones que llevan a Coquimatlán, salen de esta Central cada 15 minutos.
